    1. Hi Make Me Radiant, sorry it took us a while to see this question, I hope you see our reply. You can definitely layer waterbased products on top of a silicone based foundation. Some airbrush brands do their foundations with Silicone and their eye shadows with water based formulas. Just don't try and mix the two different bases in the airbrush cup, because that may not be ideal. Happy airbrushing!

  2. I am probably unusual in that I use airbrushes for art and craft and have now started to look into using it for make up - I did beauty therapy courses before all this started. I have a youtube channel and blog that are slowly building up. The problem I have found is finding the makeup in Spain at all, let alone at reasonable cost. Whereas I would happily review some, I don't like to buy product that I have not been able to even touch a sample of! For my own use I have had to take to diluting a liquid foundation just to try it, hardly ideal.

    1. Hi Sandra, thanks for your question! Spain actually has several very good airbrush brands. For example the brand Ten Image by Cazcarra, which we are about to review. We will also have a video tutorial about it, so I hope that will help you decide. You can check our Useful Link page for the links to these brands in Spain. Happy airbrushing! :)

  4. hi is there in your opinion any major difference between the air base silicon products and the Kryolan Nubula silicon base products?
Airbase claim that their 7 colours cover all skin colors ,with mixing, but Krolan seem to have gone down the expensive multi pallette option am I correct with that?

    1. Hello Alistair, thanks for your question and apologies for the delayed reply, we seem to have had a problem with google notifications :) Yes there are differences between Airbase and Kryolan. While being both silicone based, their texture and finish are quite different. You are correct in outlining the marketing strategy of both companies: Airbase has offers a small number of colors that you can mix together, while Kryolan Nebula has 18 shades for foundation. Since the finish of each brand is quite distinctive, I would advise to buy a couple of sample colors (Airbase has a tester size, while Kryolan also sells its shades individually), and decide for yourself which one you like best. They are both excellent brands :)

  5. I have just read your evaluation of the Aeroblend Kit, and the product you evaluated is no longer available, the compressor isn't anyway, and the getting every blush color isn't true today either. There is no help to be had other than sending an email, and waiting, waiting and waiting until someone answers you. So after being so excited getting this and wanting to get started and getting questions answered and then hitting a brick wall since there is NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL FOR HELP, I am frustrated. I am a mature lady with some prominent wrinkles and want to know how best to prep my face and with what in order to achieve the best look with their product. The compressor they are now sending is looking like their old model, and I am not sure if it is a dual action or single, it does continually spray air the minute the unit is turned on. You do not have to push down to get air, you need only to pull back to get product. As you recommended, I did purchase the Pro Kit, yet didn't get all of the blushes, and I need the Plummy and Legally Barely There. I have emailed them yesterday and today, and still awaiting a reply. So as I was looking for help since I am not getting any from Areoblend, I discovered YOU...YAY! I have read so many of your articles and some of them are from several years ago, and wonder if they products of today for my dilemma might be different and what might work best for me.My heaviest wrinkles are the jowls, and creepiness around the eyes. When I tried airbrushing with N5,N10,n20, trying to find my prefect match, all I got was a face that looked like a crackle coat on a piece of furniture and couldn't determine what color is the right shade for me. SO, Aeroblend does not suggest what primer or anything else to prep you face to work with their product and I am losing my mind trying to make this work for me. Can you help. I am a high risk cardiac patient and cannot stand too long and cannot get so stressed trying to get help from this company. I did read that they are water based so I thought that that might be a good choice, but maybe not at this point. PLEASE, can you take a few minutes to help me? That would be so great to lift my spirits after getting out of the hospital an trying to make my self presentable. I will await your reply with great anticipation. With great thanks humility, Cindy Mihm

  6. Hello Cindy, thanks for writing! Aeroblend is a smaller company and perhaps these times of lockdown have affected their promptness in replying to their customers. I do not have a phone number for them, my own contacts with them have always been through their regular customer service email address. I am sure they will get back to you soon. In the meantime, yes, the compressor they are currently selling is their standard one and the airbrush is a "single action" brush. This should not make any difference however, and you should still be able to achieve a fine application. The problems you describe sound like the typical effects of over spraying: using too much product at the same time, with a pressure setting that is too high. Try setting the pressure to medium (12 o'clock of the dial), and try layering the color in very light passes. Do not expect coverage right away, but rather build it up slowly by overlapping sheer layers. Also, do not "look for the makeup" on your skin, but stop and pause to observe how your skin changes. If you apply it correctly, your skin will not look "made up", but simply clearer and more relaxed. Remember to gently open up creased when you aibrush around more textured areas. Please check my videos and YouTube channel to see more of these techniques being performed. I hope this helped, and I hope you feel better soon. Aeroblend is a good product and you should enjoy it for sure. Please let me know if you saw this reply.
